# Reconfigure Powerblock pin usage - update

Is this still the case?...

...Documentation regarding /etc/powerblockconfig.cfg states that the default(s) are pin 11 (GPIO 17) and pin 12 (GPIO 18) suggesting they can be changed.

Configuration
The configuration file of powerblock is located at /etc/powerblockconfig.cfg. It uses simple .ini file syntax = for setting the the values of its configuration parameters.
The parameters are explained in detail in the following:
• activated: Can be set to
o 1: Activates the handling of the power switch signals of the PowerBlock.
o 0: Deactivates the handling of the power switch signals of the PowerBlock.
• statuspin: Raspberry BCM pin used for status signaling (default: 17) connects to S2 on PowerBlock
• shutdownpin: Raspberry BCM pin used for shutdown signaling (default: 18) connects to S1 on Powerblock
• logging: Enables or disables logging via syslog to /var/log/syslog. The logging is enabled if set to 1.

Error messages received: Sound Card stops working - (I believe there is a conflict on pin12 = GPIO18)

You could try and not connect the PowerBlock via the 2x6 pin header but connect the PowerBlock with jumper wires. You could then change the status and shutdown pins in the configuration accordingly.
