Lr-mame frameskip option?
-
Hi does the current version of the Libretro mame emulator (current mame or closest Libretro supports, which I think is just called “lr-mame” without a hyphen-date after, have a frame skip feature that can be enabled in text config files on a game-specific basis? If so can someone share the proper syntax, e.g, lr-mame-frameskip = “1”. Would like to see if this works for a few games that run slow, the same way it helps with Dreamcast.
Thanks. I tried a ton of googling and even checked the official mame docs and came up empty trying to find this. On a side note on that, if anyone knows of an official guide document for what all the options are that can be configured, and proper syntax for them, in each lr-emulator that would be super awesome to know. Not sure if I am bad at google or what but I feel like every time I try to find that sort of thing I wind up down a rabbit hole.

@BJRetro I think F8 or F9 will enable frameskip. F11 to show fps. If you're using a pi4, why not try older mames? If you're using a pi3, then delete lr-mame and use fbneo/mame2003plus :P

There's docs.libretro.com that has detailed information for the libretro cores, with the available options for each core. However, it's not a complete reference -
lr-mame
doesn't have a page to document it. -
@mitu thanks at least I know I am not crazy!
Yeah playing on a PC for lightgun games and lightgun support is wonky for other mame versions and for various reasons not wanting to do advance mame. I use mame-2003-plus and fb alpha on the pi.
