You can, but it will not work - that's why it's not available for the Pi3 model.

@mitu
So the RAM makes the different ?
And if i wanna give it a try how can i plz ? :)) -
@shavecat Ram has nothing to do with this. Redream uses their own compiled opengl es drivers that are meant for only the pi4. It will not work on a pi3.

Sure, you can install it yourself to see that it doesn't work - https://redream.io/.

Shame ....
But thanks ! :) -
Apologies for bumping an old topic but I'm experimenting with a pi3b (not +) that I have changed the config to use the opengl driver and re-installed everything from source.
From there I installed things like sm64pc which need opengl and that works perfectly.
I'm trying the same with redream but I'm getting an opengl version error. Any ideas what I can try to fix this?

Redream is not supported on RPI3, it needs OpenGLES 3 to work, which the RPI3 doesn't provide.
-
@mitu Ah okay, I guess there's no experimental way to update to opengl 3 on the pi3? Not expecting a lot of functionality given the CPU numbers but just curious if it'll boot

The PI3's GPU doesn't support (hardware wise) OpenGLES3, there's no 'update' that would fix that.
