Figured I'd share the progress of Y.A.P.S. as it's nearing completion.

      The Goal:
      Yet Another Pi Station (y.a.p.s.)
Fat PS1 with internals replaced with a raspberry pi 3 to allow for backups to be played in a higher definition than the original ps1 while keeping as much original functionality of the PS1 as possible.

      What's Inside upon completion:
-Rpi 3 with custom air cooling solution
-7" 800x600 HDMI display with driver board
-psx to usb adapter to allow for psx controller use
-ardruino nano to read and write backups to and from ps1 physical memory cards
-dvd drive to copy any ps1 or other disc based game to the internal storage
-1TB hdd for large file storage
-12k mah batteries to allow for approx 18 hours of game play using only rpi@base clock and internal screen

Any questions feel free to ask. This is going to be crossposted so sorry if you see more than once.

That's possibly the max amount of stuff you can shovel in to PS1 haha. Shame that you couldn't use the original PSU thou, since the battery pack obviosly takes away so much space. Nevertheless, impressive work. Is the CD drive attached to the system somehow, or is it just resting there ?

My soul rests, when I hear the PS1 boot music

Looks very complicated here. Question, does the DVD drive work to watch movies here? Do you have the files needed to watch them?
