Favourites - Once list is final can you disable the Y button (add/remove)?
-
Hey all - I am going to be hosting a party coming up with a lot of people not familiar with retropie. I would like them to use the favourites I have selected however not be able to add/remove the list I have already created. It is very easy to do by clicking the wrong button.
Any way to disable the add/remove once you have finalized your favourite list or do I have to create a custom collection based on the list I have created and disable favourite option?
Thank you.

I don't think there is such option, but there's another one which might help you - disable saving of metadata on exit in Emulationstation, this way the Favorite flag will not be saved in the gamelists.
-
That is a good point. I could just reboot the Pi and all back to normal.

@thezoof You just have to remember to enable metadata saving when scraping from Emulationstation. Using the setting will probably also make the 'Last Played' static, so if you're using it, disableing the metadata saving might not be the right option to set.

Has their been any developments in regard to this, is kid mode the only option still?
-
@Uskompuf There is no new development - did you requested something ?

I did this exact thing.
I left the "save on exit" on. I just edited the emulation station button map CFG file to remove the "favorites" button ("Y" for me) map. (I think I mapped it to nothing. It's been a while.) I can still go into the metadata in FULL mode and edit favorites (I still have a favorites list), but the favorites button do anything. I have the button available in games, just not ES. Again, I edited the CFG file in terminal with nano...or in PIXEL with text editor.
