Help with Sega CD
-
Decided to start over from scratch with 4.6 and am having some problems with Sega CD. I have the BIOS files named and placed correctly. The problem is whenever I run a game I get the Sega CD BIOS screen then it goes to the CD player menu. If I select CD-ROM on the CD player the game loads. However I'd much rather it load right to the game like it used too. The same thing happens with Genesis Plus GX and Picodrive. I'm running on a Pi3B+. The same files all worked fine previously and work as expected on a PC with retroarch.

@Spectral Fine here. The pi is case-sensitive. Check your cue files. I converted all of my sega-cd games to
CHD
so I don't have this problem.CHD
only works in genesis plus gx. -
I'll go through them and check, but like I said they all worked fine before. All I did was copy them over to the PC, re-flashed my SD to 4.6 and copied them all back again.

@Spectral I haven't touched mine either, but again, they're in a format you aren't using so I can't rule out that bin\cue's are the problem.

Out of curiosity I tried converting one to chd and it does the same thing. Can't be bothered messing with the cues, especially since all the same ones have been working fine for years until now and continue to work fine on other devices. Its getting to be more trouble than it is worth. I'll just stick to bog standard nes, snes, etc for the Pi and switch to something less picky for anything of any complexity. I appreciate you trying to help though, Thanks.

@Spectral You can try posting a cue file from a game that gives you this issue and see if someone else can help. You can also try installing the emulator from source to get the latest version.

@Darksavior It's all of them, none of the games work as normal now. If I select CD-ROM from the Sega CD's CD player it boots the game and they work absolutely fine. They just wont boot directly to game. I've been using the exact same files since at least when 4.5 released, probably a little longer.

OMG I am a moron. As is often the case it was user error and such a monumentally stupid one. The one thing I hadn't thought of since I last played Sega CD was I use a different controller. With this one I guess since in most systems it doesn't matter I have been pressing one of the face buttons to start instead of start, whereas it matters that it is actually the start button on Sega CD.
