Atari Jaguar at full speed on Pi4 with Lr-MESS
-
Hello,
I followed this procedure for Atari Jaguar on the Pi4 with Lr-MESS, and OMG...https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/22600/how-to-emulate-bally-astrocade-vtech-creativision-and-emerson-arcadia-2001-in-lr-mess
I'm able to run Bubsy and other games at full speed or almost. I switched Astrocade for Jaguar. You have to use jaguar everywhere (Rom folder name, configs, etc.)My overclock setting is :
#OVERCLOCK v3d_freq = 850 over_voltage=6 v3d_freq=850 hdmi_enable_4kp60=1 arm_freq=2100
and BIOSes are
jaguarboot.zip
jaguar.zip
jaguarcd.zipHave a good weekend!!

Thanks a lot. I followed your instructions and worked perfectly. However, even though I see better Jaguar performance with lr-mess than with virtualjaguar, framerate is still around 45 fps in most games (it was around 35-40 with virtualjaguar). The sound is particularly scratchy. My cpu is overclocked to 2000. Is there any option to rise fps around fullspeed?

Thanks for the fps check.
For the sound, It depends, for some 2D games, the sound is not that bad (not far from a good experience).
In the Hash file , located in the BIOS/mame/hash folder , they commented slightly on the playability.
Some games are not playables even on both emulators.
I'm running Zool 2 or Bubsy at 49 FPS with Lr-Mess and 33 FPS with Lr- virtualjaguar (Big difference)
