Favourites disappearing

For some reason my favourites keep disappearing. Is there a setting I’ve missed?

This usually happens when EmulationStation is not correctly stopped. Are you stopping your PI/system by yanking the power plug ?

@mitu hi, I’m using a button I’ve connected to the power connection on my Picade X Hat

And that button cuts the power altogether or shuts down the system correctly ?

@mitu If I use the shutdown option from the menu it should be ok though?

@Mark_H Yes, that's the recommended method. Some buttons have a script attached which safely shut down the system, including EmulationStation - so if your button doesn't have that, the best option is to use the EmulationStation menu to shutdown or restart your system.
