retropi on W gpi cant find mame emulator for gba?
-
Hi, just installed the W into a gpi case and saw that lr-gpsp doesn't work so I installed mame2003 and 2010 from what I saw under optional packages. I don't see the option to run the emulators when booting a game, where am I going wrong here?

Those are not GBA emulators. You need to install
lr-mgba
- see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Game-Boy-Advance for the available Gameboy Advaance emulators. -
@mitu Hey, I've tried lr-mgba for Pokemon leaf green and it had bad audio but the frames seemed to be okay some dips here and there. Is that normal?

Yes, GBA is a bit of a stretch for a Pi Zero.
gpsp
was the goto emulator for such system, but there's an issue with it on the latest Raspbian release (leading to emulator crashing). -
@mitu I see, so then perhaps the patch will be out sooner than later?
-
@usrstu I wouldn't be so optimistic,
gpsp
(orlr-gpsp
, the libretro core based on it) is not actively developed for quite some time. -
@mitu Ahh I see I have the zero overclocked as much as I can, so then no way of further optimizing the zero for this. Wish I had knew this before would of just made the emulation system on my 3 b+ haha. Weird thing is that when I play pokemon emerald it's so crisp better than leaf green, I assume that emerald was just programmed efficiently. Only some moments of lag where there are more agents in the scene and especially if sound is on at these moments.

Please try updating lr-gpsp from binary and see if it works now.
-
@BuZz No luck still.
-
@usrstu Please can you post a verbose log. How did you update btw? Make sure you update RetroPie-Setup if you installed from source.
