FBNeo high score saving trouble

@barbudreadmon I think I found two more: Sunset Riders, for which I use
ssridersebd.zip
(2-player version), and Daioh, which is justdaioh.zip
. The latter might not be fully supported, as it does stutter here and there , but I have warnings turned off, so can't say for sure.@mitu said in FBNeo high score saving trouble:
If you're afraid it might break something, then I guess you'll have to wait.
It works for now, but I will probably do a proper update later on.

.@barbudreadmon Did you have a chance yet to check if my suspicions about these two games are correct?
-
@WeirdH ssriders should be ok since https://github.com/finalburnneo/FBNeo/commit/ddf4ceaf973de3d121d819486c2a644555f74e42, daioh still doesn't save hiscore (it's failing for whatever reason, i have to look further into it)
-
@barbudreadmon Cool, I'll check it out soon.
-
@barbudreadmon Another report: Arcadia (
arcadian.zip
) doesn't save scores either. I also tested it's clone Rapid Hero (raphero.zip
) and same result. -
Another one: "Prehistoric Isle" (1989 / SNK) does not save highscores.
Just played it yesterday - the game has achievements since a few days :D -
Support added for
arcadian
,prehisle
and clones. -
@WeirdH support added for
daioh
(special thanks to dink who helped me on this one) -
@barbudreadmon Great! Thanks a lot to the both of you.
-
@barbudreadmon Found another one: Tutankham (
tutankhm.zip
)EDIT: and another one: Thunder Cross 2 (
thndrx2.zip
) -
@WeirdH i didn't test them but they should be ok now

@barbudreadmon just another question concerning highscores.
I had an odd experience with "Demon Front" (IGS) recently:
i played it and was able to enter highscores. They were saved - everything great.
The next day, without updating or changing anything in the RA-Options, the language changed from english to korean(?), mandarin(?), i dont know - something asian.
So instead of "ALX" i was only able to enter hyroglyphes :D
Do you have an idead why this happened? It is still asian now, did not change back :/ -
@sirhenrythe5th i've heard of that issue on pgm once but was never able to reproduce it, since those settings (language & hiscores) are both written in the nvram, i suspect that nvram got corrupted for some reason, tbh it might even be a hardware bug. Did you try switching to another region then back to "world" in dipswitches ? Actually, is your region still set to "world" ?
-
Thank you for response barbudreadmon!
I realized that the last two options in RA for this game are the region-dips, who are declared as "hacks".
I did not touch those but thought also that these two settings are responsible for the shown language.
Thank you for the hint with the nvram!, i will try to change the region-setting and if does not have any effect i will try to delete the nv-file.Kind regards and thanks again! ;)
-
@barbudreadmon Confirmed as being ok now. Thanks again.
-
@barbudreadmon Maybe another one, though it's not easy to test, as the game doesn't show the high score list in its attract mode. Battle Bakraid (
bbakraid.zip
) doesn't seem to save scores for me. -
@WeirdH are you sure ? this one should save hiscores already
edit : nvm, actually the game probably doesn't save hiscores, the hiscore support code is in FBNeo indeed, but there is no entry for this game in
hiscore.dat
-
@barbudreadmon Found one more: Mystic Warriors (
mystwarr.zip
)Also, can I add an entry for
bbakraid
myself? -

Do you understand how those entries work ? If interested it seems there is a tutorial at https://highscore.mameworld.info/tutorial.htm
Added support for
mystwarr

No, but I could try.
Aaand both tutorials start with 'compile your own version of mame', so I'm already out. Wow, finding that hiscore information is not a hassle free process, to say the least...
