USB ports no longer determine player number retroarch 1.7.1

I was able to successfully update too, but only gripe is that it messed with my Game remap files for FBA. It changed my Strong Kick and Punch buttons. Nothing to serious but still a little annoying.
-
@redbatman The new version has a new format for the remap files - so any remapping will need to be redone. Nothing that we can do about that I'm afraid.
-
Updated to 1.7.3 now too, thank you BuZz

I figured out the remapping, but it’s a logical nightmare. No sign on which player you are changing. It’s also based off the auto config numbers on your controller, no longer the system button letters. I don’t see how it’s “better” but thats a complaint to the Libretro guys.

All my remappings … gone!? 😮 😭
Well, panta rhei.

@buzz Darn, well at least I can still copy and save them for games that are alike. Such as CPS2 games and Neo Geo

@BuZz
Sorry to drag up an old topic but I'm wondering if this is an issue again. I'm using retropie 4.6 with retroarch 1.8.5 and it seems to be completely ignoring usb port ordering. I'm using a usb hub (pc engine mini multi tap) and 2 different controllers (pokken controller and pc engine mini controller) and regardless of which ports I put them in the pokken is always set as player 1. I saw you had fixed it back in 1.7.3 but just wondered if that has been reverted again. -
@ruckage not that I'm aware of. Maybe it's different with USB hubs. Start a new topic with info if you're having issues please.
-
@BuZz Thanks for the reply, I'll do some more tests. It's possible it's down to the hub itself so I'll open up my build and check using the built in USB ports.
-
@BuZz Built in ports work as expected. For anyone else with the issue it's the hub (or the way retroarch handles hubs). Not the end of the world, just would have been nice as the ports are numbered 1-5 for those to match up with the players. I may try 2 of the same controller now to see how that affects it.
