Epic Noir - Dark Mode Theme

@chicuelo I've got zero experience with illustrator. Haha.
It would be amazing if you were able to make a dedicated Batocera version with key mapping updates.
B = Enter
A = Back
Y = FavoriteThank you again!
-
@A-Bored-Ninja replace the button, the background and swap with text edit A for B in the theme.xml
-
-
@chicuelo Sorry to bother you.
I noticed that the ingame-global-bg.jpg is A, B, Y.
It should actually be B, A, Y.
Would it be possible for that to be updated?
It's perfect everywhere else.
Thanks!
-
@A-Bored-Ninja It´s intended, first it is alphabetically ordered and then, you have first the return button in case you want to go back, and then the enter one. I think is the logical order ←, →, ✓ (Back , Enter, Fav)

I have registered in the forums just to thank you guys for such a great theme. I've been using retropie for a while, and now I love it using it more with this fantastic theme.
I realized that there is a power menu option in the theme, is there any guide on how to use it?, thanks in advance.
-
@Diablo-Loco Thank you Diablo!
In my case, I have installed the nespi case script, basically you create a system called power, and place there two scripts as it roms where, also you create the gamelist and then drop a script file on the retropie scripts folder. if you need the files you can search or contact me and I will send you mines. -
@chicuelo Thanks, and sorry for the late response. After a lot of reading and testing, I found a solution. I'm got it working right now. Just need some kind of box art or image for the menu.
-
@Diablo-Loco Yes, you have to treat each element of the menu like a rom, you can add a video too!
I forget to mention that. Great you have now working! -
Hi guys
I know I stupid but I like to understand this
I have my moms and if I rename the files in this directory ~/.emulationstation/themes/es-epicnoir/_art/indicators, the systems shows in order ?
I did rename the directory but I don't see any changepi@retropie:~/.emulationstation/themes/es-epicnoir/_art/indicators $ ls -la total 100 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Aug 8 21:50 . drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Aug 7 01:29 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3919 Aug 7 01:29 10th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3947 Aug 7 01:29 11th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3929 Aug 7 01:29 12th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3906 Aug 7 01:29 13th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3840 Aug 7 01:29 14th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3603 Aug 7 01:29 15th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3865 Aug 7 01:29 16th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3951 Aug 7 01:29 6th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4007 Aug 7 01:29 7th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3992 Aug 7 01:29 8th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4010 Aug 7 01:29 9th-system.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3751 Aug 7 01:29 auto-favorites.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6148 Aug 7 01:29 .DS_Store -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3888 Aug 7 01:29 gamegear.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3911 Aug 7 01:29 genesis.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7762 Aug 7 01:29 left-ray.svg -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3924 Aug 7 01:29 nes.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3734 Aug 7 01:29 power.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3886 Aug 7 01:29 psx.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3636 Aug 7 01:29 retropie.png -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3927 Aug 7 01:29 sega32x.png pi@retropie:~/.emulationstation/themes/es-epicnoir/_art/indicators $
What I'm doing wrong ???

@iMacosiris If you rename those png you only will display the indicator dots in the order you want.
For example if your first displayed system is snes, if you rename the 1st system.png to snes.png when snes is displayed you will see the white dot in the first position.
If your second system is megadrive, you have to rename 2nd-system.png to megadrive.png -
Well thanks
so something is not working here..
The system names are not show in order
there is any file that show the order ? (let me refresh that) is any way that I can change the order in witch the system are display ? and hide the rest of the dots ?
Br -
@iMacosiris To reorder the systems you have to edit the es_systems.cfg. the first in the list will be the first displayed.
The dots are only png images simulating a scrollbar, you have 16 files in which the white dot goes from the position 1 to the 16th. if you name the png with the whit dot at first position, as the first system displayed it will match, if you rename the 4th system in your list, with the 7th png dot position you will notice something strange.
If you have more than 16 systems you could not display any dot from the 17th. If you only have 3 systems in your setup, you will have 16 dots but only using 3

Hi guys !
I recently ported this theme to the Odroid Go Advance (theme compatible with Batocera, Emuelec 3.7+, ...). I mainly reworked the system pages, gamelist pages... to fit perfectly with the OGA screen. This theme will also work very well on other systems (Retropie, Recalbox, ...) with a resolution of 320×480 ;)
Link in video description ;)
Again, THX Chicuelo for this amazing work !
-
@Frakatchoo Great outcome! glad you could port it to other systems! great job!
-
Another try ;)
This time with the DIG frontend.
It's not really a "port", as DIG's interface is completely different from EmulationStation. But I adapted the background images, and the results are quite nice. -
@Frakatchoo I think in this case it will be better to replace the controller with the system logo. This interface already shows up the controller, so you will recognize better the system with the logo.
-
@chicuelo It'd be lovely if the dot system worked for more than 16 systems, and if Sega CD and 32x had different art (I've used Genesis for CD now), but this is amazing theme. I've just installed it today after seeing this thread, and I really love it.
Thank you!

@AdamBeGood If you have some photoshop skills you can easily edit the dots and make your own indicators. It would be great if ES includes this as a native feature

I am still slightly confused by the dots issue - even after trying to read through this thread. I have 30 systems; can I use the dots or not? They don't move at all after the initial install - apart from the options dot which does work when that is selected.
If the dots don't work at all with more than 16 systems, that is fine. But if I can pick my favourite 16 systems and use the dots for those, with the other ones just not working, then I'd try that. I don't intend to get rid of systems.
