      Hi.

New member here and still trying to learn :)

I've got most of the emulator games to work, BUT there are still a few that don't show despite its correct file name.

I've download full packs of roms for nes, snes, atari-seriers, n64, megadrive. The games that work is the snes, atari2600 and some 7800. Before posting this thread i've honestly looked for a solution with people with the same problem, i've found solved threads but it dosen't match my problem sadly.

Most of the common problem is that people have not unzip the files, i've done that. They are z64 as an example for n64 games.

What is missing or what have i've done wrong?

Depending on the emulator you don't need to use uncompressed files. If the emulator supports compressed files you can add the extension to the es_systems.cfg.

Here's some information to try: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/23120/ports-won-t-launch-from-emulation-station/2?_=1601836370881

            Specifically per @backstander :

            ~/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg (which is a symlink to /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg)

Each system is documented with it's own page in the Docs, the supported extensions are listed there. If your ROM filenames don't have the correct extension, they'll not show up in the gamelist.

thanks for your reply. I've looked trough every single one of the docs and i have already followed those steps. I don't understand.

Like i mention before i have working snes games and a few atari but the n64 and nes are not showing. The filename on n64 is .z64 which from i understand is a correct file type?

You skipped the most important question. What image did you use to build this system?

                              and

Did you configure the system to read roms from the USB directly? If not, you need to copy them to your SD card.

It would help to show the complete path of roms. Since Linux use a case-sensitive file system, if you use, for example "NES" instead of "nes", it might be a problem.

Which USB are we talking about ? You haven't specified how you transfer your files, the screenshots you've posted don't show where these files are located (macOS finder is special like that), but it doesn't seem you're transferring them to your RetroPie via file shares.

As long as you're not mixing the case (NeS, nES), you're fine.

okey, let's see. what is meaning with image?

The usb part i've configure to read roms trough the usb. I followed the steps where i first add some roms to the sd card, then transfered them to the usb. i don't know if you understand what i mean, but i hope you do.

How exactly did you install RetroPie ? Did you use the file provided at retropie.org.uk/download (.img.gz) or other methods/files ?

Use the Finder to transfer your files, over the network, and leave the USB alone for now - see the file transfer method using file shares.
