        @mitu Funny thing is that, i can see the folder now and drag games into it.
        THen i restart the emulationstation and even did a system reboot, there is no playstation to be found in emulators/games listing...

          @TresManoss

          better check your es_systems.cfg file .. cus if it isn't there, it won't show up in the emulationstation games list.

          here ... /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

          and here ... /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

          there should be an entry

          <system>
          <name>psx</name>
          <fullname>PlayStation</fullname>
          <path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx</path>
          <extension>.cue .cbn .chd .img .iso .m3u .mdf .pbp .toc .z .znx .CUE .CBN .CHD .IMG .ISO .M3U .MDF .PBP .TOC .Z .ZNX</extension>
          <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS psx %ROM%</command>
          <platform>psx</platform>
          <theme>psx</theme>
          </system>

          in one or both of those cfg files.

                  @TresManoss What extension have the files that you copied ? They'll need to match the list of extensions understood by the psx system - cue .cbn .chd .img .iso .m3u .mdf .pbp .toc .

                      and then, personally .. i use CDmage to convert all those *bin files in a single *.bin

                      Then i have only a *.cue and a *.bin file ... and then compress them to a single *.chd file. (using CHDman)

                      saves a ton space ... and the game is one single file, and smaller (sometimes a lot, by 50% smaller or more)

                      P.S. etc/ folder is here (screenshot from WinSCP)

                          hey so i saw that this is installed by default now, but i can't get any PS2 roms to load on raspberry pi 4. was trying to follow this guide, but none of the packages show up as optional packages.

                          when i go to run a playstation rom the logs say everything is fine, but the game doesn't load - it just goes back to the selection screen.

                          is this an issue anyone else has encountered?

                            Is it PS2 or PS1 ? The lr-pcsx-rearmed emulates only PS1 games. Check if you have the correct BIOS files - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/
