I have had problems playing ps1 games on retropie
-
@supppp when you say they 'won't work' - what do you mean? they don't appear on the games list in the ps1 section? or they appear but don't run?
also, please fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@supppp please answer my first question. if they crash out when you run, please supply a verbose log as per my link.
-
also when I say won't work I mean that 75 percent of the games won't show up
-
and the games I can use never crash
-
@mitu yes I have done that many times and it works with all other systems just not ps1
-
@supppp show us the file name(s), including extension, of a game that doesn't show up. note that the only supported extensions/ are listed in the first table here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/
-
all of them are the same aka disk 1 is cd1 disk 2 cd2 etc and I just fixed the disc 3 cd1 thing it is now cd3 they where all originally .cue files -
@supppp said in I have had problems playing ps1 games on retropie:
thing it is now cd3 they where all originally .cue files
.bin
and.cd1
files are not valid extensions for PS1, you should have copied your.bin/.cue
files in thepsx
folder and the.cue
files would have been shown in the list. Don't use sub-folders for discs, it's not necessary. -
@mitu yes but it also stated that they needed to be labeled cd files for multiple discs
-
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 1).CD1 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 2).CD2 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
Final Fantasy VII (USA) (Disc 3).CD3 < This is the renamed .cue or .chd file.
Final Fantasy VII (USA).m3uI do not know how to create the m3u file though
-
@mitu yes but it also stated that they needed to be labeled cd files for multiple discs
Only of you want to hide them from the list when you're using a
.m3u
playlist. It's optional and you need to them3u
file created first, otherwise you'll see nothing in the game list.I do not know how to create the m3u file though
Am
.m3u
file is a simple text file, which you can edit with Notepad, where you list the.cue/.cd<X>
file names, one per line. -
ok should I change them back to cue?or just create an m3u file
-
Change it to .cue and see if they show up in the list.
-
it works now thank you
-
my ps1 final fantasy disks don't work but they show up
-
@supppp verbose log as per above please.
-

-
