Alien Front (NAOMI) sound issue?

Hi everyone,
So here's my problem: I'm running Alien Front the arcade version on my Rpi4 and it seems to be running pretty much full speed except for when there are a lot of things happening in screen at once the sound cuts out or skips a bunch. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any ideas how to fix it? I run the game in Flycast (installed from binary). It's not the only Naomi game I have but it's the only one that's being having this issue. My other Naomi games seem to run well.
