      Hello,

      My setup:
Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B/4GB
Power Supply used: official charger 5 V, 3 A for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, EU
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website, retropie-buster-4.7.1-rpi4_400.img.gz
USB Devices connected: wireless usb keyboard, usb 3.0 external hdd
      Controller used: Xbox One controller
      Emulator: nes/snes

I have some rendering issues with videos. In Raspbian and RetroPie Pixel, youtube plays with video glitches/artifacts. This was solved by disabling and re-enabling the h264ify plugin from Chromium.

In emulationstation i also have video artifacts when playing scrapped videos (skyscrapper and ScreenScraper were used, videos were downloaded straight from the source, no additional converting was done).

Does anyone know how can i fix this video rendering/encoding issue? OMX is disabled and resolution is 1920x1080 60fps via hdmi. I also tested it on another tv (that one was 4k) but it was the same. I'll be using the pi on the small tv.

      Thanks

i would recommend enabling it since OMX has Hardware Acceleration and the default Retropie player (VLC i think) does not ... and is only suitable for low bitrate, low resolution video playback.

My video snaps are 1280x1024 and the play buttery smooth with OMX Enabled

... without it enabled, they stutter, drop frames, pixelate and are generally unwatchable.

Switched to pictures only (cover box and screenshot). Turned OMX back on. Thanks for the explanation.
          Cheers
