Rom Files
-
My apologies. Are there any answers?
-
unzip '*.zip'; rm *.zip; scp *.nes pi@<iptoyourpi>:~/whereveryouwantoplacethem/
-
It's not that easy though as each zipped rom has about 10 files inside, which are different versions and regions, so I have to manually sort through each one.
-
@jay81uk What 10 files?
What exactly is your question? -
It sounds like you're describing a GoodTools set. Any answers you may possibly need will be more appropriately found on the standard Wikipedia entry.
-
@jay81uk if you unzip all the main zips then if you want say U.S. roms do a search for (U). Then move those files to your folder. Then do a search for (JUE). Then (UE). Then (JU).
-
Hey Jay, Just use 7zip in windows. There is a context menu that appears when you right click. Simply unzip your package, find all the files and select/highlight all of them, drag them to the folder you want to unzip to using the right mouse button, when you release you will get a context menu, highlight 7zip and choose 'extract here'.

A lot of the emulators accept a .zip extension. Simply check the wiki for the system and it will tell you acceptable file types. I've been leaving my roms zipped with no issues.

It sounds like his particular situation involves each zipped game having multiple rom dumps which confuses most, if not all emulators that normally support the zip format.
-
@mediamogul Yea I noticed, but he also mentioned copying the .nes file over. Figured I'd let him/others know zip files are acceptable file extensions.
-
@tehswiftone Ah, gotcha.
