Help with OpenBOR - no config found for system openbor
-
Ive installed the newest version of openbor via the retropie setup experimental packages menu (openbor 6510) however after I try to launch it via the ports category I get the message 'no config found for system openbor' and get booted back to emulation station.
I have checked in /opt/retropie/configs/openbor/ and there is an emulators.cfg file present... so I'm unsure on why its not working. Any help would be much appreciated! -
Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Is this the
openbor
port or some other experimental script (openbor 6510
?) ? -
@mitu Sorry
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 4
Power Supply used: Official raspberry pi power supply
RetroPie Version Used : 4.7.3
Built From: official raspberry pie sd card imager
USB Devices connected: usb controller
Controller used: xbox one controllerSo after updating my retropie packages the one that I was trying to use before (which was openbor 6510) has been removed? and now its just the openbor port under retropie setup - experimental packages and its number 187... I've installed this one however it still does not launch but I no longer get the message 'no config found for system openbor'.
My pak files are in the openbor folder under 'ports' but it doesn't even boot into the openbor menu so I don't think its anything to do with them?
Is there any other configuring I need to do other than just installing the package from the retropie setup menu and then putting my pak files in the open bor folder to get this to work? -

In RetroPie there's a single
openbor
port - what you had before (openbor 6510 ?) is not part of RetroPie. The RetroPieopenbor
port doesn't support.pak
files, they need to be unpacked first. -
@mitu Thanks for your help, no idea where I got that other version of openBOR, but by using the included one and unpacking the files, some of the games are now working, others just boot me back into emulation station but I'm guessing them ones just aren't supported.

@leonjordan Hi mate, a few folk have had problems getting the 6510 version working recently (me included). It doesn’t seem to work correctly if the port openbor.sh script that comes with Retropie-Setup is present. Also, there’s a couple of things you need to do post install.
Have a look at the last few posts in this thread and hopefully you’ll get it sorted: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19326/openbor-6xxx-openbeta-testphase/

@leonjordan i had a number of problems installing the openbor scriptmodules. i suggest you try RetroPie-Extra version of the openbor scriptmodule, which will install an up to date build (65xx) with ability to direclty launch .pak files without extracting them.
