Mame2003-plus default.cfg update notice
-
In order to remove the confusing digital vs analog core options and natively map analog and digital controls by default we were required to push an update to our default.cfg
This will only effect users wanting to update from source.
This will require users to either delete their default.cfg to get a fresh initiation of the default mappings or they can re-setup their default.cfg to their preference in the mame menu under "input general".
If the user has never modified their default.cfg (input general) then there will be no extra setup required. The new default.cfg will automatically be updated.
Some recommendations are to set the analog to digital mode to "none" if this was altered by the user. This is found in: retroarch menu-> quick menu-> controls-> analog to digital type-> none.
Analog to digital mode is designed to send a digital signal along side the analog signal to allow an analog joystick to emulate a dpad. This causes double inputs when mapping in the mame menu. It's recommended to map your inputs with this option set to "none" to avoid double inputs being mapped.
Future builds of retroarch are going to be changing analog to digital type to replace the analog signal completely and this will no longer be an issue but until then it's important to be aware of this option and it's potential side effects. This effects all cores but is noted here for trouble shooting purposes.
The mame2003-plus team apologies for any inconveniences this update may cause but it was a necessary evil to enhance our input support system.
Thank you.
