Neogeo games won't run

Hello,

I've been trying to run Neogeo games in Retropie. I've followed this tutorial:

Stuff I have done so far:
Found a Neogeo BIOS online.
Downloaded a game ROM and moved it to the BIOS folder AND the ROMS folder without unzipping.
Tried running the game. It's just a black screen for a minute, then it goes back to the menu. In the tutorial he says that you should change the default emulator to lr-fbalpha, but I can only choose lr-fbneo-neocd or lr-fbneo. The latter is the default emulation.

Any advice? Thanks a lot :)

@soren They're going to ask you to provide details of your setup and/or provide a verbose log on pastebin of the errors so that anyone can help.

your issue is almost certainly incorrect romset for lr-fbneo.

@soren I'm not sure why someone that has no idea how roms work would make a tutorial about it. That's why it's best to only use the official docs.

To make money... and as you said, this guy probably doesn't understand what he is doing, he is only succeeding by sheer luck...

@soren several issues with that video :

it's outdated, FBAlpha is now FBNeo
it doesn't cover the most important aspect of arcade emulation : romset validation
