@iandaemon I don't think that's what they meant. The log shows the emulator is in the usual place.

@Ken-Tipton the emulator is retroarch, in /opt/retropie/emulators. Do you have any remaps for the game ? Did you use the RetroArch's RGUI to reset/save the configuration file ?

I did not reset or save a config file. All games in the Arcade folder just stopped working I didn't do anything diffrent.

        1. I copied entire Arcade folder to my desktop PC
        2. I deleted Arcade folder from retropie via ssh
        3. I reloaded a known good Arcade file from another sd card. (I played games on this card and they loaded fine.) I copied the Entire Arcade folder from this SD to my Desktop PC then loaded it to Retropie using ssh
        4. Inside the Arcade folder are game roms and emulators along with art sets.
        5. I went to retropie setup and updated my most used emulator cores.

@mitu They said "The Arcade folder I added has emulators in it", that's all.

@ken-tipton No, that's the log file. I mean to get the contents of the /opt/retropie/configs/arcade/retroarch.cfg file and post it on pastebin.com.

@ken-tipton This looks like the file was saved from the RetroArch's menu or you enabled 'Save on Exit' and one of the settings is not correct (input_joypad_driver is set to null ?).
Rename the file and then install one of the arcade emulators (lr-mame2003 or lr-fbneo). This will re-generate the default configuration file that RetroPie sets and it should work.

                            now the games load but

Asteroids is lagging and very slow
Donkey Kong no longer has the audio for mario walking. When game loads it says audio files are missing. where would the audio files go?

@ken-tipton Donkey Kong requires samples. See the docs for more info on that.

@thorr69 I have the sample files loaded here

                                /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/samples
and I am using mame2003 to play Donkey Kong
When I open the zip file in the sample folder I can see 8 files in there.
DKStomp and Run 1-3 are present but these are the sounds I am missing

Can you post again the runcommand.log when the game lags ? Use pastebin.com again, instead of the forum post, the log is quite large.

Can you post again the runcommand.log when the game lags ? Use pastebin.com again, instead of the forum post, the log is quite large.

                                      where is that file located

It's in /dev/shm - the same log file you've posted previously. Make sure you enable verbose logging - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#launch-with-verbose-logging.
