Is the Favorites Icon Accessible?
-
Following up on this previous thread about unbinding the Favorites button, it was concluded that unbiding the Y button from adding games to the Favorites menu is currently impossible because that function is not human-accessible at the moment. Does anyone know if the Y button icon is also in the same boat? If not, I'd like to find it and Photoshop it out to help remove the temptation of people wanting to press it. I know I can swap/edit the A/B button icons, just hoping Favorites "Y" button is the same.

Thanks. That worked...kinda. Any idea how to get rid of the word as well? Otherwise removing the icon alone is a moot point.

Disable the help system and it won't show up at all. Otherwise, since it's a text, it can't be swapped by replacing an image.

Thanks. But I was hoping for a happy medium. I actually really enjoy the help system buttons, as I think it adds a nice esthetic to the menu and fills up that empty space at the bottom of the screen. It's just that when I enter into Kiosk mode, Favorites is not a useful option, so I was hoping it would be removable (since in our other thread we determined that it can't be removed/disabled just yet). So removing the icon and text was my next best option. So I assume the text is hard coded and non human accessible at this stage correct?

Sorry, if I'm late to the party.
My two cents: Photoshopping is not really a solution, maybe at best a workaroud.
Thus, what would be the expected behaviour with the Favorites function in these modes below, then we could move towards an implementation-based solution:Mode Favorites Add/Remove Available? Full Y Kids Y/N or configure availability when in Full mode? Kiosk Y/N or configure availability when in Full mode? Please add modes if I forgot some.

Well, from what I understand, Favorites was disabled by default in Kiosk mode in an earlier build. Which would make sense and be the best option. But it was dropped in subsequent updates. Would like to have this added back, but I guess the devs would have to make a note and want to revert to this change again.

@alphabetapie Last time, when it was disabled, we had users complain to add it back because they were using it in Kiosk mode. Looks like neither options would satisfy everyone.

And what about a toggle option in the settings?
Only available when in full mode and which says "hide add/rm favorites in Kiosk mode" (or similar) and default is false/off (thus it is visible in Kiosk mode, which will reflect the latest commit). If ticked/on and mode is set to kiosk the favorites function will be not available (pressing Y-button has no effect and it will not be shown in the help status line).
PS: I was wrong about Kids mode in my previous post, in kids mode favorites is disabled all times.

Kids mode would be perfect....if I could still use the search by letter option. With large collections, it's a must. Which is why I must stick with Kiosk for now.
And those wanting Favorites in the Kiosk really don't have a leg to stand on in that request. They should just use full mode. But having a toggle (like turning the help menu off/on) would be idea.
