      @iandaemon Ah, apologies. Was thinking of Arabian Fight, that I tried out. I seem to recall having played it briefly on the Pi 3, but it's not a game I invested much time in so it might be you're correct.

        @pjft Actually so was I. I have Arabian, but wasn't able to get Arabian Fight to work well on the 3B. I never saw Arabian Magic before. So you're saying to try AdvMAME with Arabian Fight? Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I still have no idea if the game is worth playing.

          @iandaemon it's a case of two wrongs making a right :)

          I mean, it was a long time ago, but I think I still played it until the middle of the first level or so on AdvMAME.

          Hope you're doing well!

            Pengo

            I always thought Pengo looked cool, but it always kicks my butt. I've recently started to try and get better. (sigh) I just need to sit down and spend more time with it.

              @iandaemon Pengo (& other games of that era; e.g. Pacman) used a 4 way joystick. Using one of those (Happ still makes them) is key to play it right.

                @udb23 I'm using a restrictor plate on a Sanwa. (shrug) I just don't have the patterns down and I freak out. XD

                  @iandaemon Pengo is one of my all-time favourites, too. It was one of the few arcade machines accessible for me as a child, since most arcades were (and still are) open only for adults here in Germany. Fortunately, Pengo stood in a snack bar on my way to school. 😆

                        @jamrom2 How do you have your controls configured for Front Line?

                        System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

                          @victimrlsh I know it's meant to have a rotary with push-down for fire, with a separate single "grenade/enter tank" button in the middle of the panel.... so I did the best I could with my panel and it works fairly well.

                          I have a split two-player joystick setup... left joystick is set to be the player control, right joystick is the gun/turret position control. Directly below and next to the right joystick, I have two buttons for the old school "two-player" games. The button closest to the joystick I can hit with the base of my hand, or just point the joystick and drop down to fire continuously. So that became the "fire" button. The adjacent button is the "grenade/enter tank" button, which I can slap or hit quick with my other finger, then jump back on the joystick.. etc.

                          Also.... my Joysticks on this particular cabinet are original Wico leaf-button sticks. I tried using the newer cherry switch style buttons that I have on another cabinet.. but the feel is not the same.

                          If you need a pic, let me know.
