Retroarch 1.90?

@jamrom2 I don't know what your build looks like, but any upgrade for a package preserves the existing configurations of the emulator.
Yes, that's what I was hoping for. What I meant is sometimes upgrading something creates more headaches than expected. As long as the new version sees all the locations of the config files in all the original locations, everything should be fine.
Thanks for the hard work. Much appreciated. I'm looking forward to the new release

RetroArch 1.9.4 should be installable now from RetroPie-Setup.
Binaries have also been updated, if you wish to install from source, then make sure you also update the RetroPie-Setup script to version 4.7.13.

@mitu Awesone! Achievements-Sounds FTW!
-
@mitu hiya. I ran into a problem with lr-dosbox-pure after the upgrade to 1.9.4. I lost the use of my keyboard. Only a few keys work like G, J, C, etc. I haven't touched anything else, aside from trying to get it working again
It's a BT Rii mini i8 that had no prior issues. It works fine in other emulators and DosBox Staging.
Keyboard region is set to US
No other keyboard bindings selected other than default.I've updated lr-dosbox-pure to the latest binary as well.
On a side note, the only other emulator that I had to fix was lr-handy for Lynx. It now requires the bios file to run. Prior to this 1.9.4 update it didn't need it.

@jamrom2 Please open a separate topic.

@mitu no problem
-
Is there a possibility that a new iso with the latest updates to be released ?
-
@windg just update all installed packages after an update of the retropie script, this is what the devs do when they release a major image-update

Note concerning Achievements Sounds.
Even if you activate them in RA it is not played because it is not there.
You have to create the folder "sounds" in "opt/configs/all/retroarch/assets/" and copy a sound of your choice in there.
I am using the Playstation-Trophy-Jingle named "unlock.ogg" and it works great now. -

/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/assets/
:)note that RA has their own unlock sound available here: https://github.com/libretro/retroarch-assets/raw/master/sounds/unlock.ogg
(retropie doesn't install this or any other RA sounds by defaults as it installs a 'minimal' assets package)

Thanks for adding the complete path. -

As soon as a achievement pops up the sound changes to annoying static noise.
I disabled the sounds for the moment, i dont think we can do something about it, i guess it is an issue concerning RA. -

Strange, as RetroArch hasn't been updated recently - it's the same version as 1 month ago (v1.9.5)
-
@mitu that is what i thought too.
In the end the achievement-sounds did work for sure at the beginning.
I am not sure anymore...was my first attempt based on RA1.9.4 or RA1.9.5?
I also had the idea that my chosen sound has got corrupted somehow, i will try to change it to the default one offered by RA in the evening.
Did not change anything relevant on my setup (audio output or mixer), i just keep up updating daily if an update is available for my installed cores and emulators. -
@sirhenrythe5th did you find a solution to the white noise sound in the end? I'm finding it on 4.7.19 when using a retroflag gpi
Edit: nevermind I updated to 1.9.9 RetroArch and it's fixed
