AdvMame and MAME2003 simultanesously?
-
Hi!
Can I have both AdvMame 1.4 (I want it for the vector games) and MAME (for the rest) simultaneously?
Can I have a different platform lists inside RetropIe for each of the two?
Thanx in advance!

@Pyjamarama Yes, you just place all your roms in the Arcade folder. You then choose the emulator you want using the run command. One menu, multiple emulators. I do exactly what you want to do.
Can I have a different platform lists inside RetropIe for each of the two?
Not sure what you mean by this though. If you install both those emulators, you already have different lists under each emulator.

Thank you! Is there artwork that makes AdvMAME set apart from MAME in the GUI?

@Pyjamarama means he's put libretro MAME ROMs in the right directory, and AdvMame ROMs in the right directory, now EmulationStation has two systems called MAME. How do you tell them apart?
To answer your question, no there isn't artwork to differentiate between these in the default theme. We decided that making per-emulator theme changes for the various MAMEs available was too much work for little gain and would just make theming even more difficult.
You could look up how theming works on the wiki and make your own images if you wanted to.
If you don't want to do that, put one in the MAME directory and one in the
arcade
directory, then choose a default Arcade emulator to match the ROMs in that directory. eg:mame-libretro
directory runs withlr-mame2003
arcade
directory runs withadvmame
This way the two different emulators have different heading picture in the ES menu.

Ahh, I get it now. Yes, you can do this:
