I saw an article earlier about tearing on raspberrypi4.
In that case, I added "dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,noaudio" to the config.txt file.
It said that the tearing would be eliminated.
However, it was at the expense of various things like splash screens, screen savers, game thumbnail videos, etc.
I love the emulationstation theme so much.
Without them, I'd rather use LAKKA!

Is there any way to solve the tearing without sacrificing them?

@yamanobe i believe you can get videos back by using videos that are not playing with omx, but rather vlc - see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/7979/please-test-using-omxplayer-as-video-renderer - hopefully someone can verify this.

as for splashscreens - no, as they rely on features only in the closed-source part of the older fkms driver, which is going to be depreciated upstream in favour of the kms one. perhaps a kms-friendly equivalent could be developed, but i am not aware of anyone working on that.

@dankcushions Thanks, I'll try the video thing.
I'm very sorry to hear that the splash screen is not solved!
I'll wait for the next update.
