Controller wont work for choosing emulators anymore, joy2key problem/issue not working...
-
@mitu sorry im new to this things, how do i get to do that?
-
Use the File Manager menu from the RetroPie system and navigate to the
/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/logs
folder, then view the log file by pressing F3. Post the contents of that log file. -
@mitu this is the latest one:
https://ibb.co/QQH3JxC -
The error comes from using an old Raspbian version (based on Debian Stretch), which seems to have an old
python3
interpreter - not compatible withjoy2key_sdl.py
.Didn't you get a message, after updating, that your system is no longer supported ?
-
@mitu yeah i did get a message about it, so what the only way to fix this? Upgrading will it fix the issue?
-
@nestor1924 Use a compatible OS and this issue will not be present. Get the latest RetroPie image and install it, then transfer your ROMS/BIOS/configs over from your existing installation.
-
@mitu ok will do that, i got alot of customs images, intros. Themes, even music, even the thropies feature from retroachievements... will all of it transfer?
-
@nestor1924 You'll have to transfer them from the
\\retropie\config
folder and place them into the same location on the new system. If you've got custom scripts/systems/etc, you'll have to re-do the customizations on the new image also. You should backup your existing image before upgrading to a new one. -

Two days ago when you asked this on Reddit, I told you it would. Did you forget to check back there for replies, or did you just not believe me?
-
@sleve_mcdichael i did believe you i just wanted to know other opinions if anybody else could find another way of fixing it without having to start a new image, since theres no way other way around im giving up on this, thank you guys for the help!
