Whenever you install lr-fuse you always have to set Controls from Retropad to Cursor Joystick and save that core setting. Is there anyway we can edit the lr-fuse.sh scriptmodule to make that adjustment when it installs? Or that would only edit the options of the core itself, not the retroarch control settings?

@retropieuser555 not everyone would want their input mapped to that though. I would suggest if such a config was made maybe Kempston would be better.

Maybe it's worth asking the upstream libretro core devs to look at changing the defaults. I'm happy to change a default core options if it's well tested and won't cause issues with another users config.

The most common comment has been why keyboards don't work as a spectrum keyboard by default on lr-fuse. But for keyboard only users a standone spectrum emulator (like fuse) is probably better suited if they want that. But my main point is any default change needs to be well tested and optimal.

@buzz that's very true. I suppose it's the case of someone being a keyboard user or a gamepad user for that system. Equally they'd have to know to setup specific controls for each game as well, so I guess it depends how nitty gritty you'd want to get.

Either way though having the config set as Retropad will always do nothing for some reason. But you're right, maybe it's something for libretro devs to fix than Retropie
