Forum Tournament Round 1: Just a little fun
-
@meleu I was thinking about choosing 3 games to play next time instead of one.
-
@lilbud I'll have to check out your poll. I've only been able to pop on here for like a min at a time. Work has been crazy today.

Wow. It's hard to a father of two
demonslittle cute angels find enough time to play this much on a weekend... Well, I'll pick one of the 3 and try as hard as I can. :-) -
I believe one one game would be good to one lace one because there are not enough people to do multiple games and still have it be just as competitive as the first week
-
@qix77 I hear that, But replace work with school. And you've just described my day

You know what would be cool? Doing a sports (could be an another genre too as long the game allows you to play against an another player) tournament, I mean like a multi player game in which people from this board compete to each other just like it goes in a real competition. The game could be from any system in which we all will vote for. So for an example it would look like this:
We have 4 people who want to participate. So it's going to be lets say some soccer game on Neogeo.
So the first match is:
Player 1 vs Player 2
Second match is:
Player 3 vs Player 4
And the winners from these matches will play against each other in the final match.
We could call it "Retrolympics" or "RetroCup" or "RetroGames". I don't know guys this idea just popped into my head when I was browsing this topic. What do you think? Cool idea or naaaaah.
-
@PetroRie I like this idea but how would you manage to do it online?

Well RetroPie has online multiplayer support.
I think we could run the tournament like this:
Please sign up just via this board. We make the pools. Players compete against each other and send the result as a screenshot. The winners will play against each other until the last match.
I think we would need a small space to host the images on and the pools info. It's just for people who are members on this board, just a tournament for fun. Outsiders are not welcome lol.
-
@PetroRie I also like the idea and there would have to be a way for others to watch it like a live Twitch stream but I think it would be too complicated to pull off. If we all lived in the same town and could meet in the same building and do this, that would be fun but I know we're all over the world. I won't say it's impossible but there would be a lot of overhead involved.

Here is the tiebreaker poll. We are down to Black Tiger vs New Rally X
-
@lilbud curiously, due to that reaction about my game suggestion, I didn't vote for New Rally X in the first poll.
But now I voted for it. :-) -
@backstander Even a Twitch stream would be difficult, I dont have the best Internet as it stands, plus, I dont have a capture card
-
@Brigane English is my first language, and I still screw it up
-
@lilbud I meant "be prepared to loose your muscle tension and play more relaxed". :-P
(nice try, huh? :-) ) -
Phoenix is such a mean game, but also very addictive. Remember playing it years ago at an arcade.
Had a few games earlier and go up to around ~9000 - still quite far off the top score currently.
-
@lilbud haha no worries, I also f**k up my own Danish language all the time, its actually kind of embarrassing 😂
-
I'm calling it, the game for this weekend is......New Rally-X. Start your engines
-
Awesome, GL, HF everybody 😆
-
I had an idea. How about we have a scoreboard where people can post scores and screenshots? I just made one in Google Slides. Anyone can edit it when they get the top score, and put a screenshot there along with it.
Try it out and tell me what you think.

To be honest I like the way we did here, posting in the thread. I think it repects the KISS principle. Unless the @administrators think that the screenshots will overload the server...
[Edit] We will start a new thread for the round 2, right?
