Genesis Plus GX audio
-
Good day everyone. I am having an occasion (depends on some games can be constant) audio stutter. This is only on this core across Genesis, Sega CD and master system. I am running raspberry pi 4. Turning shaders off helps some
what but the stuttering audio is still present. All other cores are functioning properly. I don't drop any frames either. My system is over clocked. These issues are not apparent on Pico drive. I know a simple solution is to switch but people are telling me picodrive doesn't emulate well and or it doesn't give you the same experience. -

Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: One
Controller used: Logictech F310
Error messages received: None just audio stuttering on Genesis Plus GX
Verbose log (if relevant):

File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: Genesis Plus GX
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: The audio issues happen at random but with every game on the genesis. The audio will stutter intermittently.I tried what you said on disabling shaders. I user ZFAST curve. While not happening as much, the audio is still stuttering. This isn't happening with any other emulator. Cheers.

@dankcushions I think I may of fixed this. I tried "tinyalsa" and it completely got rid of all stutter across this core and it still sounds great.

@refazeshot1 yeah, the default in retropie was recently changed to
alsa_thread
for pi4, which should give a same/better improvement. however it needs latest retroarch to automatically apply, and an unchanged config file(s).
