How do I resolve the issue with NAOMI games having double listings in Emulation Station when they have a CHD file?

Example, I put cvs2.zip in the Dreamcast roms folder and I put it's CHD in a sub folder called cvs2 underneath the Dreamcast roms folder.

      It's laid out like so:

      /home/user/RetroPie/roms/Dreamcast/cvs2.zip
      /home/user/RetroPie/roms/Dreamcast/cvs2/gdl-0008.chd

When Emulation Station loads, it shows 2 cvs2 listed in the Dreamcast list.

When you select the top one, it then proceeds to allow you to select "gdl-0008.chd", which of course doesn't work.

When you select the second one, the game will play normally.

How do I get rid of the first cvs2 listing?

See attached photos for what I'm talking about.

Thanks for any assistance regarding this!

@sodaboy581 you may opt to manually remove .chd and .CHD from the es_systems.cfg file for Naomi.

es_systems.cfg should be backed up first. Make a copy. By default it resides in /etc/emulationstation, but you may have an override copy in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation

Carefully remove .chd and .CHD from the <extension> line for Naomi, save your file, then restart EmulationStation. This informs ES to no longer display those files in the GUI. No more dupes.

Hi, this doesn't work because there is no extension line for Naomi, there is only one for Dreamcast, and I use CHD files for my Dreamcast games.

I'd have to start using GDI for Dreamcast, but that takes up a lot more space.

@sodaboy581 I've never been a big fan of running Naomi/Atomiswave games from the Dreamcast folder personally. My advice would be to manually add Flycast as an Arcade core, and putting your Naomi/Atomiswave games in the arcade rom folder. You can see how to do this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/f04z8l/how_to_add_lrflycast_as_an_arcade_emulator/ The other benefit of doing this is that Naomi/Atomiswave games will actually scrape properly in the arcade folder versus the dreamcast folder.
