Selling Arcade Cabinets With Twister OS and RetroPie

Good day everybody,

I'm a full-time engineer in southern Germany with a love for retropie and I could imagine selling arcade cabinets on etsy. In the cabinets is a raspberry pi running Twister OS and Retropie (but no ROMs/Games). First of all, I wanted to find out whether it is allowed to sell a Pi with Retropie?

If not, could I sell a Pi without any software and send the customer instructions or a link?

@Bastelbudde servus. Retropie darf in keiner Form verkauft werden, egal ob mit oder ohne vorinstallierten Spielen/ROMs.

(Translation: it is not allowed to sell retropie in any matter. It also makes no differences if the sold version comes with preloaded roms or not)

Translation: Thank you for your quick reply! Then I will take that into account. Then there would be nothing against shipping the Pi without software, but instead include instructions for installing Retropie or? (with reference to Retropie homepage)

Not quite - see https://retropie.org.uk/about/legal/. The RetroPie image includes software with non-commercial license, so it's not legal to sell it or include it in your kit.

You can sell the hardware (the arcade cabinet) and provide instructions on how it can be made to work with something like RetroPie or other Pi supported gaming system.
