Streets of Rage Remake 5.2 - add to Ports ?
-
If anyone needs v354 to update manually you can find it here:
https://github.com/saulbustos/bennugd-rpi/blob/main/bin/rpi/bgdi-354Then you change the reference to it in:
/opt/retropie/configs/ports/sorr/emulators.cfg -
@Refazeshot1 @Floob cheers you pair of legends. Get to play sexy SORR on both my pi's now
-
Many thanks @Floob and @ExarKunIv for your work on this.
Has anyone found a way to bind ESC to the Start button of a controller? It's weird to need the keyboard to exit in the middle of the game. -
@ExarKunIv @Refazeshot1 okay so I'm having issues installing it on my pi4. I'm pretty much using the same method except I'm running the engine bgdi-354. My retropie script is updated to 4.7.21
Am I transferring the same files across to the ports/sorr folder eg mod, palettes, sordat and sordatmaker? Whenever I click to play it I just get taken back to the ES screen. Cheers -
@hawkes_84 That is correct Hawk, your transferring over all those files mod, palettes, sordat and sordatmaker. If those files are not transferred over when you run SORR it will just kick you out to the main menu. So it should look like this;
/home/Pi/RetroPie/roms/Ports/sorr ---> /mod, /palettes, sormaker.dat and sor.dat
-
@Refazeshot1 well I did that originally and I'm still getting kicked back. Also it seems to already have the MOD folder in there when I go to transfer the stuff across. The only thing I can think of that was mentioned in Floobs video is I go to download SORR via emulation station as opposed to going directly via Retropie-setup.sh but would that even make a difference?
-
@hawkes_84 I believe when you install SORR it installs the folders but they are all blank. When I moved mine over I just put the required files on a USB drive which copied them over automatically to ports then I just dragged and dropped them in the SORR folder. I did this over WIFI. I just tried it on a PI4 with a fresh install and it works. You will need to have the script installed first of course.
-
@Refazeshot1 yep I have the script installed. Retropie updated. I know the rest is right as I did it for my pi3 the other day. Transferring the files via Wi-Fi like I would putting a rom on. I don't log into the Pi via SSH but rather just press f4 whilst in ES and it takes me there but can't imagine this being an issue. The only thing I can think of is this is a custom image (I know) of retropie and my Pi3 has the standard image. I know custom images are frowned upon but I like to use both
-
@Refazeshot1 most are empty. I have now add the system.txt in the mod with the change that floor says to change.
So that want all that has to be done is copy the files over and don't overwrite the one file. You should be good.
I did not have a problem before. But I'm not by my pi I can check it again tomorrow.
-
@hawkes_84 so you have xorg installed
-
@ExarKunIv xorg? Not sure what that is. Sorry
-
@hawkes_84 xorg is kinda like a desktop emulator. It lets us run ports with opengl support.
And with sorry I have it set for it to use xinit. Which is the command for xorg.
I just forgot to have it install it when you run the installer.
The downfall from doing too many scripts if one installs it I forget to check to make sure they all install it.
I'll fix that on my script.
Once I'm done with that all you have to do is uninstall it update my scripts with the new one and you should be good to go -
@ExarKunIv thanks. If you could let me know when you've fixed it and what to type in to update it
-
@hawkes_84
Alright it is updatedif you installed the whole RetroPie-Extras you can update it with
cd ~ cd RetroPie-Extra/ git pull origin ./install-extras.sh
if you installed just that one script. then you have to remove it and use the same command you did to install it
-
@ExarKunIv Wow I must of completely forgot I installed XORG a long time ago but that explains it.
-
@ExarKunIv Many thanks. Some progress! it's worked but...it's tiny in the top left corner of my screen! I thought your script tackled this issue? Is there more to update somewhere? thanks
-
@hawkes_84
sorry but no, that is something only you can change, you have to press a when the gray window comes up when you first start the game, and then change the resolution and also in the options in the game is self has a few things you can changedo make sure that in the
system.txt
this line looks like this
// FULL SCREEN WIDE: AUTO, DESKTOP, BORDERLESS, BORDERLESS_SYNC AUTO
-
@Refazeshot1 said in Streets of Rage Remake 5.2 - add to Ports ?:
@ExarKunIv Wow I must of completely forgot I installed XORG a long time ago but that explains it.
i know, i miss that all the time since once its installed its there and will work.
-
@ExarKunIv many thanks. I've tried all the resolutions from the grey box options and its doesnt seem to want to make the screen bigger. The game options enlarged the picture a bit but still far too small for the screen and yes the system txt document is identical to what you have put. No worries. I'll have a tinker with it and see what can be done. Many thanks
-
@ExarKunIv I managed to get the screen to a good size after much trial and error however there's a large black border to the right of the screen I cant seem to shift. I assume this is as good as I'm going to get it?
