I recently used the Pi Imager to create a new RetroPie image, using the OS selector in the Imager. I also set advanced options to enable SSH, set the pi password, hostname, etc.

None of advanced options worked, and everything was setup as default. Are the advanced options supposed to work when selecting alternate images?

Try to download the image from RetroPie site and then use the Pi imager. I hope it will work

My English isn't at a good level.

@BuZz Thanks for the confirmation. Wish that was made more clear, but I know you guys don't have any influence on the imager.

We can clarify it in the out docs.

The RPI Imager has an option of controlling what's supported by an image - as far as advanced configuration is concerned - via the init_format parameter, but we don't use it, since it might cause problems by settings a different default user (especially now that new Bullseye releases will not have a default user).

That being said, I think enabling SSH and configuring the WLAN SSID in the advanced settings should be working. Changing the hostname may be useful for users with multiple RetroPie installs on the same network.
