I should note that I'm running the latest Ubuntu and have tried installing Dolphin both before and after running the updates in the retropie setup script on fresh installs each time.

I see the binaries are built, but the post-build step of copying some Qt5 configs fails. Stupid question, but do you have enough free space on the disk / RetroPie-Setup folder ?

I'll have to install the 22.04 release, can't reproduce the issue with 20.04 or the current Debian (bookworm).

@mitu Is there a way I can roll back Ubuntu? I'm happy to do that to get it working

I think this is a Dolphin build issue, can you try again the installation ?

@mitu I tried it a couple of times before finally just giving up; uninstalled Linux and retropie and went with windows running Launchbox which started working immediately. Thanks for trying to help just wasn’t for me I suppose.
