Pi4, pairing random Bluetooth devices.

Latest image on website as of last night.
I updated all packages within the menu.
I did install vice from source (??) Just before bed.
Power supply is def within spec.
Everything worked great last night for an hour trying to learn the program.
Left it on overnight, dual sense on the charger, appeared to remain connected (woke up, blue light still on)
Now......
When I woke up, the dual sense despite being blue didn't seem to control the pi4.
The Bluetooth keyboard worked, but it was laggy, the whole os I figured didn't like being on overnight while vice compiled?Reboot system, can't get the keyboard and dual sense to work at all.
Go to Bluetooth to remove them and readd
Can't find them
Check the connected menu, a heap of Bluetooth devices which I don't recognise are paired?
Remove, reboot, try again.
Still can't see my devices, more weird things are paired (??)
It's a very fresh stock almost system :(
Does installing vice, from source, maybe damage some core dependencies of retropie itself. Hence the weirdness?

@GoshGeeGolly note that I'm also suffering with BT repetition and lag with the built in BT module on the device with my keyboard.
It's within 4 feet / 1 metre on a Pi4.
My BT Keyboard is lagging quite bad, things like lettttttttttttttttttttttttttttters holding on and so on.
Would I have better luck with a USB dongle? I do have a pretty decent Asus BT400 I think somewhere, but I'd have thought by the year 2020 the Pi4 might have a reasonable enough chip??
Note the Pi4 is on wifi but it's on 5ghz Wifi

No, that shouldn't affect Bluetooth connectivity. Also, why install from source when the binary is available ? Vice is also installed out of the box, so no installation should be necessary.

If you have a metal case or an USB3 hdd connected, that may interfere with the wireless chip on the Pi and an external USB dongle may work better. You haven't provided the full details asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, that would have helped diagnose this faster.
Try removing all Bluetooth connected devices from the RetroPie-Setup configuration, then re-pair the controller (I assume 'dual sense' is the new PS5 controller) and see if it works better.
