Pi Model or other hardware: 400
      Power Supply used: Official
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website (retropie-buster-4.8-rpi4_400.img.gz)
USB Devices connected: Logitech Unifying Receiver (for wireless keyboard)
      Controller used: Xbox Series Bluetooth
      Error messages received: N/A
      Verbose log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
      Attachment of config files: https://pastebin.com/kqCTxH16
      How to replicate the problem:

Firstly, I am very new to this so please forgive me if I use incorrect terminology or if my explanation isn't accurate.

I have just setup my first Retropie on a Rasbpi 400 and having one issue that I cannot seem to find a proper solution for on forums.
When in a game, I can access the Retroarch menu using the hotkey, but I am unable to navigate the menu using either the Rasbpi 400 keyboard itself, wireless keyboard or Xbox controller. I can ctrl-alt-del to reset the device, but that is it.
When I access Retroarch GUI through the ES menu, the same happens.
For reference, these are the menus I am referring to.
I am sure this is a simple fix, but I am clueless.

Did you configure your keyboard or gamepad? https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Controller-Configuration/

Did you configure your controller in EmulationStation ? This should generate automatically a compatible configuration for your controller, to be usable in RetroArch.
When you start RetroArch, do you get an info message (bottom left) saying that your 'Xbox Controller is configured' ?

@windg Yes, controller is working fine with all other menus and games.

@mitu as in when the system boots for the first time, it prompts to configure the controller?
Yes, did that and controller works perfectly and can access the Retroarch menu from in a game with the hotkey shortcut, just nothing works once in that menu.

I'm not the one who asked but yes, that's what they meant.

On the controller, are you using the D-pad or the analog stick? With my controller at least, I cannot navigate these menus with the stick and must use the pad.

For the keyboard, I can navigate these menus with a keyboard, but I have also set up my keyboard as an additional controller in EmulationStation. I don't know if maybe this configured something that is necessary to allow it to navigate the menus as well, or not. Does the keyboard work in games, for you?

@sleve_mcdichael neither dpad or analogue stick works, and also tried with a wireless retro NES style controller.
I haven't tried using a keyboard in game but might be worth a try.

                    Try to :

                    1. Update your system
                    2. Reset the controllers and restart :
                      RetroPie Setup > Configuration > emulationstation > Clear/Reset.
                    3. After the restart, it will ask to configure the controllers. First add the Pi 400 keyboard and second, the gamepad.Restart and test some games .

@windg Hi. This doesn't seem to have worked, I can use the keyboard to navigate the main menu but not in Retroarch.
