I've been try to get bluetooth audio to work for a couple of years now, and I can't figure out.

This is the first solution that pops up on google is this guide, but it's ~3 years old and I don't even know if it's valid anymore.

I have a raspberry pi 3b + running the latest version of retropie.

I've done sudo apt update. I've installed pulseaudio-module-bluetooth.

I'm stuck on what you're supposed to do after you connect to the speaker. I can connect to the device with emulationstation or by using bluetoothctl. bluetoothctl tells me it's connected. however when I run "speaker-test" I get no sound. I've tried changing the playback device in emulationstation - nothing works. I'm at my wits end. I've been trying to figure this own for a while. I'm using an anker speaker.
