Recently bought a Raspberry Pi and installed RetroPie. Installed PPSSPP and a Vice City Stories Rom, everything works till the game starts, from the start the audio is distorted, like slowed down, and the game runs quite slow. A google search hasn't really helped. Anyone know whats going on? I thought it was the ROM but when I load the rom on PPSSPP on my computer it runs super smooth

This game is almost unplayable with RPi3 but it is running very well with RPi4/Pi400 and standalone ppsspp and some changes in the emulator settings. Generally the performance of ppsspp is worst, that was in the past for Rpi3. From some experimental tests with RetroPie(Bullseye), the performance are significant bettert. So, be patient until the RetroPie (Bullseye) is ready.

I tried the changes @WhiteT982 suggested and it worked, I have the right version of PPSSPP but still the same issues, once the game starts and the Rockstar Logo comes up the sound is distorted and the game's framerate tanks. I have a Raspberry Pi 4. This is the only game I've put on it so far, hoping its just an issue with PPSSPP and not my Pi

There is a new version of ppsspp (v1.13.2), RetroPie is using the v1.12.3. I haven't test this, maybe it have better performance. If you want to test it, you have to modify the ppsspp.sh file and build it from source(it takes 2+hours).
