Which files/folders to backup?
-
Hello!
So I am moving from one sd card in my Raspberry to another, and just to be clear, I have to perform a manual backup of pretty much everything because I am moving from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit one.
In this case, for Retropie I have backed up the following folders:
- bios
- roms
- splashscreens
- everything in ~/RetroPie basically
Other than that, I have backed up the following:
- /opt/retropie/configs/all/psx
- /opt/retropie/configs/all/fba
- /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig (controllers?)
- /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation
So I have backed up only the configurations for the controllers, emulationstation, and emulators I care about.
Other than that, is there anything I should be backing up? I know that I changed the configuration of some games specifically during emulation, but I have no idea where those are stored. Could anyone point me to where they are, please?
Thanks in advance!

The overrides for cores/games should be stored in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/configs
, each core has its own folder for overrides. If you're backing up/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch
, it should be enough - you can restore them afterwards.Other than that, the backed up folders you mentioned should be enough.

Amazing! Thank you for the help :)
