I assume it's okay to post the link here since it's just a port of XRick which is already available in Retropie:

The 32X version boots up and runs in lr-picodrive, but nothing I do can persuade it to actually start a game. It just runs through the attract mode forever. Can anyone figure out the button it's looking for?

Raspberry Pi 3b and 8GB Raspberry Pi 4, both running Retropie 4.7.1 installed from scratch using Raspberry Pi Imager, with wired keyboard, wireless mouse and double arcade joystick attached.

Press the A button, this should start the game. Check in the Quick Menu's Controls section how it's mapped, it may have a different button assigned.

@mitu I agree, it should, but it doesn't. None of the buttons do anything. It's using the default button mappings that work fine for all my other 32X games, nothing different.

[EDIT] Ah, there was a Picodrive update available, that sorted it.
