Problem with new PS4 DualShock 4 controller on Retropie 4.0

Hello

I'm in need of assistance to get retropie and DS4 to work properly.

My problem is that i have one DS4 controller that i got with my PS4 and it connects to the Raspberry Pi3 B+ without any problems and works great.

Yesterday I went and bought a new Original PS4 controller silver. It also connects well over Bluetooth, but! when I try to configure the input it does not recognize when i hit any buttons.

Emulation says that it can se 2 controllers and the controllers light up, one red and one blue.

I have tried to reinstall retropie, installd pre-made retropie image, and even reinstalled raspian and again installed retropie on top of Raspian.

I does not matter if I try to connect only the new controller, it is not possible to configure the input. I have also tried to follow this guide: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Setting-up-a-PS4-controller
Without turning of the internal BT, maybe that's not the correct way, but I have tried at least.

I would much appreciate if anyone have any more ideas to what i can do. I am no Linux expert so if you have something i should write in the CLI i would very much appreciate a copy paste :-)

I want to learn, but right now i would just be nice to be able to play some MarioKart with my daughter :-)

Did you ever get this solved?

I have two DS4 controllers and both connect fine via Bluetooth but neither can do the input setup. They are detected as 2 game pads but when I press a button it doesn't detect any input.

Sorry but never got it solved with the DS4. I had 2 Xbox 360 controllers laying around so I bought https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000HZFCT2 and followed the guide on github https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Setting-up-the-XBox360-controller

It works perfectly.

If you ever solve the problem I would be very interested in how you solved it :-)

Hi!

I think your prob is that some DS4´s use HIDRAW and some use DRAW to connect.
Had the same issue and solved it by editing the rc.local file.
I´ve deleted "--hidraw" --> https://github.com/chrippa/ds4drv

Any luck with dualshock 4 controller?

I had no issues setting it up over bluetooth, but the latency is horrible. It's definitely related to the controller not the game, as my ancient logictech wireless (usb dongle) controller has no noticeable lag.
