SNES Games not saving within game
-
Hi,
If i play a SNES game like DKC i select a save slot in game at the start and play a level then quit, but when i come back to the game there is nothing saved.I have ran the permission fixer in the menus, confirmed that the rom directory is owned by pi/pi, i can see that a .srm file has been created in the snes roms directory for that game at around the time i played, yet on loading the game it doesnt see the save.
I CAN save and load games also by using the right trigger + select and left trigger + select and see the .state file created in the same dir so it doesent appear to be a permissions issue.
Does anyone know why this happens?

Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Is the in-game saving not working for every SNES game or just for DKC ? For DKC, you need to save explicitely in-game, when you reach the Candy Kong's save 'station' by jumping into the 'save barrel' [1 at 10:12].

Aw man - listen - many thanks. I never went that far when i was trying to get it working and DKC was the first game i tried.
Queue up the muppet show theme music.....
This is almost certainly why there was no save, i assumed it would save after every level, my bad.
