prboom.cfg causing load to hang...
-
I can't find any solution or reference to this online. I installed prBoom yesterday (pi 3b) and it worked fine...
... until I opened Freeware Doom/ Freedom 1 & 2 a second time. The prboom.cfg files had been created in the correct places on the USB in the Ports directory. However whenever I launch the games they hang on the loading (press any button to configure) pop-up.
I went into the file manager and deleted the .cfg files and the games open as usual, so it's definitely the presence of these files that's problematic. Trouble is, any time I run the emulator it recreates the damn things.
If anyone has a clue why these files are tripping the emulator up, I'm open to suggestions.
I've checked the prboom docs and all of the file paths are present and correct. -
Do you have a log from the emulator - enable verbose logging and post
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
on pastebin.com ?
Also, add some info about your setup, as asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. -
Exactly same issue here , works once then second play wont load and hangs on runcommand popup screen , pi then needing reboot via ssh , folder structure set up as it should but a new doom folder is created with a prboom.cfg , deleting this new prboom.cfg lets the game run again but recreates the cfg preventing it running a second time. Manged to get verbose log , https://pastebin.com/e3r7Kbf5

Looks like an upstream regression introduced by some changes added last week. There's an issue opened for it, we'll see how it gets solved.

It should be solved now, try updating RetroPie-Setup and then re-install
lr-prboom

@mitu Thank you - that's sorted it!
