Any change in the Price of Pi's expected?

@jamrom2 They have always been sold at retail price from approved resellers if you can find them. Check rpilocator.com. The high prices you're seeing are from scalpers. Availability is supposed to be better this year but so far I haven't seen it.

I agree.

As i work, I keep the rpilocator page open (minimized).

I've gotten three Pi recently, all at standard pricing by monitoring this site.

You can also follow them on Telegram app on your phone and you will get an instant notification when there is a stock alert, so I use both

Once a shop has stock, you need to act fast because they will sell out in mere minutes. Let's just say that a lot of people use rpilocator and then some are resold at the higher prices.

Availability is supposed to be better this year but so far I haven't seen it.

That is what the Pi organization is saying, but they don't seem to be making the desired models.

Lately I've seen a bunch of Pi0W and Pi3A+

Recently I've seen only some Pi3B/B+ and a few alerts for Pi4B 8gig. But not nearly enough.

I am on the lookout for Pi02W and Pi4 1gig or 2gig.

The neat thing about the site is that it will maintain a history of the alerts, so you can see what is trending and where.

I believe the Brexit affected also the prices of Pi's. The bad, atleast in my country, is that i cant find a single Pi4 board without extra stuff, like cables, case..

no need to pay higher prices if you are patient and if you are quick on the draw.

Adafruit had stock of 100+ pieces of Pi4B (4gig) for the normal price of $55 this morning. So no "higher price"

Of course, they were sold out quite quickly. I passed on getting one

@windg At least im my town one of the official rasperry sellers argued during the last year, that they are going to sell only bundles (cheapest versions are so called elementary kits, pi + PSU and heatsinks) that as soon as they are offering the pi as a board alone sides as www.rpilocator.com are raising an alert and makers from around the globe are rushing in/causing a breakdown of their servers/webside (DoS) and they are limiting the purchase to one bundle of a kind product that includes a pi-board per order/customer (I think that 75.50€ for a Pi4 4GB + official PSU and 4 Heatsinks (95.70€ for the 8GB variant) ain't making it unattractive for those scalpers/vultures, but the limit should do).

yeah, the bundles are where they make their money since apparently the Pi are such low margins.

I've also seen things offered as "one per order" and "one per customer".

The "one per order" i can understand due to the limited supply, but the "one per customer" really sux because once you buy one then you can't purchase another from that vendor.

What crap is that? If I need one now for a project, and then I need another at a different date for a different project then I can't buy one? astoundingly dumb.

The Pi people need to make models that people want/need. Why are so many Pi3A+ and Pi0W being produced lately and not so many Pi3B/Pi4B and Pi02W?

One day i'll graduate from being a novice

I just finished helping someone with a dedicated Channel F build, and my next project is helping someone with a dedicated APF MP-1000 build.

For Channel F, the AdvaceMAME 3 worked good with advmess using all the normal roms, but due to the nature of this special project it wasn't "new enough" for some special things that needed to be done, so I needed to use a newer version of mame.

With the help of Folly's suggestions, I used his project here:

I also had to get both Channel F controllers to be functional with the GPIO, so that was fun.

For the MP-1000 project, since I had installed that standalone mame package, it also has three APF systems, so I just installed those, too. This project I am still working on, but so far things are working as expected. The person I am helping hasn't decided what to do for a controller, so that's the next part of the project we need to work on for him.

We need for each controller: 4-way stick, a fire button, and a 3x4 keypad. The original controllers are impossible to find on their own (and the system itself is very difficult to find, too), so a different controller needs to be used. I was thinking of using a Colecovision controller.

But we digress too far off topic here

Hope your monitoring rpilocator. More Pi4B (4gig) were added to Adafruit this morning.
