ControlBlock immediate shutdown

Hello,

Recently finished installing the ControlBlock on a Pi 4 B running RetroPie. Having an issue with the (momentary) Power Button. It turns on the system fine and the LED indicator flashes and then stays steady on once the system boots. The issue I'm having is with turning it off. When I hit the button it immediately turns off the Pi like its been unplugged or switched off. Is this normal? My understanding is the ControlBlock should execute the shutdown script and then once the script is complete turn everything off. Is there something I need to adjust for the shutdown sequence to work properly and if so what and how? I have limited Linux skills so the more detailed explanation the better. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, sorry for this delay. No, what you observe it definitely not normal and you are right: Upon pressing the switch the shutdown script should execute which usually takes a few seconds depending on the actual system. Also, there is no need for adjusting the default shutdown script that comes with the driver installation.

Is your hardware setup somehow special?

If you cannot solve it, I could, of course, also send you a replacement.

No special hardware set-up other than a breadboard, LED, and monetary button. Have the ControlBlock directly connected to the Pi. Have a button (monetary button for a breadboard) and LED (standard 5v red LED) connected to a breadboard for initial setup and troubleshooting. I have not hooked up the arcade buttons to the unit yet. Would that somehow effect it?

Next I'm going to try it without the button and just ground out the wires to see if the button is somehow effecting it. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. I won't be able to try it for a couple more weeks but will report back here how it went.
