When will retropi upgrade???
-
I am extremely excited to get my first retropi but I want to get the pi 5 for retropi. So when will there be A upgrade?

@Darkshadow846 Mh, remembering the Pi4:
release of the Pi4: June 2019, release of retropie 4.6 with Pi4 support: April 2020
And even if retropie could be installed on bullseye 32bit nowadays, the image is still based on buster (and bookworm is in the que, and IMHO (my 2ct/guess) will become the current raspi OS with the official release of the Pi5) ...
So no ETA (as always, this is a project people are working on for free and in their spare time) on any official support and i would be surprised if it will be within this year.
But I think that with the first Pi5 in the hands of venturous retropie-users, there will be a steady experimental progress on it (as it was with the pi4, or is currently in progress for 64bit support), but that (again my guess) won't be available within a few days/weeks whence the Pi5 is out and will remain experimental and far from stable/complete for the months ahead of us. -

We don't have a definitive date for the update that will bring Pi 5 support. Is there something in particular why you're waiting for the Pi 5 instead of getting a Pi4 ?

I think everybody's hoping the Pi 5 will emulate the GameCube with Dolphin. Don't know if that's really going to happen or not.
PS2 emulation is probably still not going to happen on anything that's ARM-based because of pcsx2 still having too much x86 crap in it.
