Trouble Running Games
-
Hardware:
Raspberry Pi 4 with 7" Touchscreen
USB Keyboard as a controller
Problem: I am having trouble running games. I am trying to run Super Mario Bros, Sunset Riders, and Mario Kart, all MAME games. I transferred the files to the Pi via a usb stick, and when I try to run the games, it acts like it's loading but then returns to the game selection screen.
What I Have Tried:
Shuffling files between the different MAME folders, running different emulators other than MAME, downloading different versions of previously mentioned games.Am I missing a pretty significant step in the process? Am I using the wrong games? Any advice would be appreciated!

@CobraDesign47 Possibly you have downloaded corrupted ROMs, try somewhere else (I can't really say where but just google
name of your game rom
). Also, please send your latest log file after attempting to run a game. -

Please don't post links to ROM sites, as outlined in the forum rules. When opening a support topic, pleasea add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
For your games not loading - make sure that your Arcade ROMs are from a romset compatible with the arcade emulator you are using - take a good look at the Arcade Quick Start documentation page.

@mitu Thank you! Sorry about that!

Hello! After sourcing ROMs from a different website I was able to get Sunset Riders to work. I'm still having the same issues for other games, but I'll let you guys know what I figure out. Any further advice is appreciated!

Again - please provide the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, including the emulator and ROM/system where you have trouble.
You can also provide a log file after you've activated verbose logging; copy the contents of the log file (
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
) and post it on pastebin.com, providing here the link.
