Pi5 and lr-citra can't install how do i fix or install?
-
@AwesomeKingClem I checked your pastebin. It is odd that it just ends but doesn't give any errors to why.
Not impossible to figure out more. It will just take digging. At this moment I don't have a pi5 (I'm working on getting one soonish I hope)
Till then I'm not going to be much helpTrying it on a pi4 with bookworm might help. Or not. Since they are different chips. It could just lead to more errors and not help your issue.
Not saying I'm not going to not try that. Just might not get the results we want. That's all
-
@ExarKunIv Appreciate it, I will try to find whatever logs are available and get back to you with any important information.
-
@AwesomeKingClem there was a additional command line that can be inserted into the script that could provide that info.
I just need to remember it now. Lol
Once I remember/find it again. I can tell you where to put it in the script and go from there -
-
@AwesomeKingClem ok.
I'm hoping this works
I don't have my pi in front of me so I'm kinda guessing here from memoryYou'll have to edit the script
You need to replace
make
withmake > output.txt 2> errors.txt
When you run the script again and it fails it should make a txt file called errors and in that should be more detailed error log.
The txt file will be in Retropie setup/tmp/build/lr-citra (or something like that.)
I hope.
Come Monday once I have my pi in front again. I'll work on getting a 64bit load going to see if that will be helpful also.

This is in the pastebin. Appears whether or not line is changed to
rp_module_flags=""

@roslof Thanks
Not 100 what's going on. But it's something to go off of.
What's your system you are trying this on?
-
@ExarKunIv
Pi Model: Pi 5
Power Supply: Official Pi 5 Power Supply
RetroPie Version: 4.8.6
Built From: retropie_setup.sh script on Raspbian official full x64 img
Devices: N64 Controller (2)This is always going to be in my signature.
-
Do you have add the kernel line in the
config.txt
file?kernel=kernel8.img
-
@abj I don't know, let me check when I get the chance.
-
@abj i added this text
but same error...
lr-ctira can't update yet...? -
@retro777
Sorry, i don't know how i can help with this, a lot of things aren't ready yet.
By the way, after you added the kernel line, most of N64 emulators will would work now. -
i managed to get a pi5. it will take a bit to get through all that needs to get done to get it working.
but i will be able to take a look at this. -

I thanks really for your works.
please tell me when if you what things for lr-citra or more on pi5 -
@retro777 thanks. i might take you up on that.
since the thread for the pi5 is quite long.
is there anything major that needs to be changed.
or is it more for a case by case edits
-
@ExarKunIv Don't forget to add at the end of
/boot/firmware/config.txt
this line :kernel=kernel8.img
. Some emulators they don't work without it. -
@abj Don’t worry, I will be getting to it. Life’s just happening right now, so it might take a while.
Oh, and a quick forum-related moral question: What should I do if a thread of mine in my signature is 12 days old? Should I bump it, make a new thread, or just wait longer for a response? I am not trying to bring attention to it via this question, I sincerely don’t know how I should approach this.
-
@AwesomeKingClem said in Pi5 and lr-citra can't install how do i fix or install?:
just wait longer for a response
unfortunately there is nothing retropie can do. from what i read from mitu said its been reported to the teams that can do something about it. so all you can do is wait, or follow up on the respected sites
-
@AwesomeKingClem
Dolphin team have a discord server, you can rise the issue and there, maybe they can do something faster about it. From the facts so far, RetroPie devs, they can't do something about it , it's a driver limitation. -
@ExarKunIv
I am assuming that, with the lack of responses to my last message, which was the actual current issue I was talking about, where it mentioned any temporary solutions:
there are none.
¯_(ツ)_/¯Welp.. back to more important problems.
